My mother recently passed away, it was just my brother and me here in Ireland, trying to cope with a loss that we never could have prepared ourselves for. We were young, grieving, overwhelmed and already struggling with the reality of having to organise and pay for a funeral. No matter how kind and understanding the funeral director is, the costs are still a huge burden when you are going through the worst time of your life.

The donations we received helped us more than we can put into words. They eased some of the financial pressure at a time when we were already struggling to simply get through each day. But it wasn’t just about the money. Seeing how many people were there for us, how many people cared and were willing to help, meant everything. When you’re grieving, you can feel incredibly alone, and that support reminded us that we weren’t.

We will never forget the kindness, generosity and love that was shown to us during such a difficult time. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone who supported us, whether through a donation, a message, sharing our page, or simply being there. It meant more to us than you will ever know.

    Losing my beautiful mam on the 5th of May was the hardest thing my dad, my two brothers and I have ever had to face. We were completely heartbroken, and during such a difficult time, RIP Ireland gave us a place to share mam’s memory and see just how loved she was. The messages, condolences and memories from our family, friends and the wider community brought us so much comfort and helped us feel less alone in our grief.
