Family and friends remember Ursula O’Neill, a woman of elegance, wisdom and deep maternal grace. Those closest to her speak of kindness that ran quiet and deep, of thoughtful care poured endlessly into her children and grandchildren. Her kitchen table was a warm harbour for stories, for laughter, and for gently spoken truths. Friends recall her strength in simplicity and her loyalty in love. From her days in Highfields to her quiet walks around Tramore, Ursula held a presence that was calm, dignified, and always welcoming. She lived with a sense of grace that made others feel safe, and she carried herself with the kind of poise that never asked for attention, but always deserved it.
She leaves behind a legacy not only in her cherished family but in every conversation where her memory brings a smile. Her family were her life’s joy, and her love will live on in their voices, their values, and the ways they continue to carry her forward. One neighbour wrote of many happy memories, tea shared in the kitchen, and the joy of being in her company. Another remembered her “elegance even in SuperValu,” a quiet nod to her unspoken class. And perhaps the words that say it best came from a lifelong friend who said simply, “A true lady, and the end of an era.” Ursula’s light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know her.
Late of Highfields, Ballycarnane, Tramore, Co. Waterford. Ursula passed peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, the 9th of October 2025. RIP.
