Family and friends remember Jacqueline Reid, known warmly to many as Jackie, as a beautiful, much-loved woman whose life carried her from Gordons Bay in the Western Cape of South Africa to Islandkeane, Fenor, where she became part of the lives and memories of those around her. Jackie was deeply loved by her daughters Meggan and Amy, her grandchildren Colton, Maddie, Bella, Casey and Archie, her sons-in-law Joey and Craig, and by her brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, neighbours and many friends. One message captured the feeling of her local community simply and powerfully: “Jacqueline’s departure is Fenor’s loss.”
Those who knew Jackie remembered the warmth of her company, the chats, the stories and the moments shared over the years. A former neighbour recalled “many chats and late nights over a glass of wine,” while another tribute remembered that “Jackie was a lady” and spoke fondly of her “entertaining stories.” Others described her as “such a beautiful lady” and offered comfort to Meggan and Amy, noting the loving care they gave their dear Mum. These memories show a woman remembered with affection, character and tenderness. May Meggan, Amy and all Jacqueline’s family find comfort in the love surrounding them, the stories she leaves behind, and the place she will always hold in Fenor and in the hearts of those who loved her.
Late of Islandkeane, Fenor, Co. Waterford. Formerly of Gordons Bay, Western Cape South Africa. Jacqueline passed peacefully on Friday, the 17th of July 2026. RIP.
