Anna (Anne) O’Donoghue

Family and friends remember Anna O’Donoghue as a warm, joyful and deeply loved woman whose life carried the heart of Cork into the home, friendships and family she built in Tramore. Late of Carrigeenlea and Ballinattin, and formerly of Melbourn, Bishopstown and Laburnum Park, Anna was dearly loved by Sharon, David, Stephen, Vincent, Gavin, Valerie and Shirley, by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and by all who shared in her life. Those who knew her remember “a lovely lady,” “a beautiful, happy joyful soul,” and someone who was “warm, funny and interested in other people.” She never lost her Cork lilt, her infectious giggle, or the gift of making people feel welcome in her company.

Anna is remembered through the many happy chapters of her life: tennis and coffee mornings in St Ann’s, days in Rushbrooke and other tennis clubs with Frank, family summers in Tramore, school friendships, Cork memories, and the neighbours who became lifelong friends. One tribute recalled how Anna and Frank were great neighbours and friends for more than twenty-five years, while another remembered Anna strolling along Cliff Road, collecting wild flowers along the way. Others smiled at memories of her cooking, from coleslaw and marble cake to the wonderful curry she prepared, and the fun, stories and energy she brought into a room. May Sharon, David, Stephen, Vincent, Gavin, Valerie, Shirley and all the O’Donoghue and McCarthy families find comfort in knowing how deeply Anna was loved, how fondly she will be remembered, and how peacefully she now rests with her beloved Frank.

Late of Carrigeen Lea and Ballinattin, Tramore, Co. Waterford, formerly of Melbourn, Bishopstown and Laburnum Park, Cork City. Anna passed peacefully in University Hospital Waterford after a short illness on Sunday the 2nd of August 2026. RIP.

Thank you for including us in this heartfelt and beautiful gathering. It was incredibly moving to hear the many loving and cherished memories shared by your family and friends. Although we did not have the pleasure of meeting Bianca Rosa, we can see through the stories and tributes just how special she was. Bianca Rosa’s spirit and the profound impact she had on those around her were evident in every word spoken. The warmth, love, and admiration that everyone expressed painted a vivid picture of a life well-lived and a heart that touched so many...
