Family and friends remember Con Daly as a devoted husband, father, brother, friend and colleague whose quiet strength, intelligence and kindness left a lasting mark on all who knew him. Late of Cliff Road, Tramore and formerly of Ballyfinane, Co. Kerry, Con carried the warmth of his Kerry roots through a life built with Edel, Kevin, Luke, Aaron and Kim. He was remembered as “a true gentleman,” a man held in “high esteem” throughout his long career, and someone whose steady presence, wise advice and generous nature made him deeply respected by family, friends and colleagues alike.
Those who worked with Con spoke of a man who gave his knowledge freely and treated others with patience and respect. One colleague remembered him as “a great mentor” from the early days of graduate engineering, while another described him as “a fountain of knowledge.” Others recalled how he was “hugely respected and liked” by colleagues and friends around the country, leaving a lasting contribution through his work and the people he guided along the way. Beyond work, Con was remembered with great warmth from UCC days, Chapelizod, Cappaghayden, golf, surfing in Dingle and the friendships that lasted across the years. One old friend captured him simply and beautifully: “He was everybody’s friend. A nicer, more popular guy you could not meet.” May Edel, Kevin, Luke, Aaron, Kim and all the Daly family find comfort in the love surrounding them, the many memories Con leaves behind, and the knowledge that his life was one of decency, friendship, service and quiet achievement.
Late of Cliff Road, Tramore, Co. Waterford. Formerly of Ballyfinane, Co. Kerry. Con passed peacefully after a short illness with his loving family at his side on Saturday the 4th of July 2026. RIP.
